Celebrate the most important women in our lives with the precious gift of time.
Devoted and giving, mothers are the very embodiment of selflessness. They are the first women to show us unconditional love and, in doing so, they, too, taught us how to love. There will never be a gift large or extravagant enough to express our gratitude. However, a precious and lovingly chosen watch goes a long way to say: “Thank you” to mothers and wives-turned-mothers alike.
To help you make it an extra meaningful Mother’s Day this year, here is a trio of new Tudor creations that you can peruse for that special lady in your life.
Black Bay 54
A great choice for the outdoors, the new Black Bay 54 is a sporty and robust watch for mothers who love to be on the move. Inspired by Tudor’s first-ever dive watch from the 1950s, the Oyster Prince Submariner reference 7922, the Black Bay 54 is also a versatile, retro-looking beauty that will take her from day to night.
The new Black Bay 54 takes inspiration from the reference 7922, a pioneering Tudor dive watch that was released in 1954.
The watch’s technical characteristics are well-accounted for. The Black Bay 54 is powered by a ‘weekend-proof’ in-house automatic movement with 70 hours of power reserve, and is accurate to -2/+4 seconds per day. Built for underwater performance, it is also waterproof to 200m.
Incorporating fine design details on the case, bezel, crown, dial, and hands that first appeared on the reference 7922, the Black Bay 54 is the most true-to-form Black Bay yet.
Robustness and precision aside, the qualities of the Black Bay 54 that our mothers will appreciate most are its wearability and vintage styling. Harking back to the reference 7922, its 37mm case sits comfortably on slender wrists. The watch is paired with a three-link steel bracelet or rubber strap with Tudor’s proprietary ‘T-fit’ clasp, which allows her to quickly adjust the watch to a perfect fit.
Best of all, the Black Bay 54 radiates a chic, throwback vibe. Trademark design features such as the domed sapphire case, ‘Snowflake’ hands, and pared-down bezel design – all inspired by 1950s Tudor dive watches – combine to make the Black Bay 54 a gorgeous nostalgia-inducing beauty.
The Black Bay 54 comes with a satin-brushed three-link steel bracelet or a rubber strap, both with Tudor's 'T-fit' clasp allowing for rapid length adjustment.
Dressy and stylish, the Tudor Royal collection exemplifies versatile and affordable sports chic.
Royal 28mm
Exuding classiness and sophistication, this year’s new Royal models come in a plethora of models spanning different case sizes and new dial colours. For mothers who desire a touch of flamboyance while keeping things subtle, we recommend the Royal 28mm.
The Royal is recognised by its classic design complemented by an integrated bracelet, and notched or diamond-set bezel.
The watch’s 28mm case is the perfect size for women – diminutive enough to look refined, while ensuring appropriate presence on the wrist. Running on a COSC-certified automatic movement with 38-hour power reserve, the Royal lives up to its name. The Royal 28mm is anchored by a gorgeous dial with sunray finish, available this year in two new colours – chocolate brown and, our pick, light salmon.
The Royal name was first used by Tudor in the 1950s to expresses the superior quality of its watches - a sentiment that still rings true today.
As with previous iterations, the collection’s signature design features come together to endow the latest models with characteristic refinement. The Royal’s famed notched bezel with alternating surface polish and cut grooves frames the dial. Elsewhere, the satin-brushed, three-link bracelet with polished joints ensures both modishness and suppleness. As the name implies, the Royal – just like mum – emanates resplendence, brilliance, and enduring elegance.
Black Bay 31 and 36
Can’t decide between gifting a sports model or a dress watch? We have got you covered. The Black Bay 31 and 36 offer a harmonious blend of casual and formal aesthetics at versatile sizes that are designed for maximum style mileage – giving you the best of both worlds.
The Black Bay 31/36/39/41 models add a touch of versatile, unisex chic to the Black Bay's famous tool watch aesthetic.
The Black Bay 31/36/39/41 line come in a range of sizes spanning 31mm to 41mm cases, and are endowed with a slightly different take on the Black Bay’s familiar retro tool watch style. Accentuated with a dressy disposition, the watches brandish refined fixed bezels, softer profiles, and five-link bracelets that drape the wrist.
The Black Bay 31 and 36 models flaunt a softer silhouette for a more sophisticated look.
When it comes to finding the ideal fit for slimmer wrists, the Black Bay 31 and 36 hit a sweet spot. Housed in 31mm and 36mm steel cases, respectively, both are versatile options that, while demanding attention, do not dominate the wrist.
Like all the new Royal models this year, the Black Bay 31 and 36 come in stylish new dial colours: blue, anthracite, and light champagne, paired with minute tracks in contrasting colours. Regardless of the version, both models are powered by Tudor’s in-house automatic winding movements - Calibres MT5201 (for 31mm) and MT5400 (for 36mm) – that are COSC-certified for optimum precision and reliability. Truly, the exemplification of poise and performance in one sublime package.
Both the Black Bay 31 and 36 are paired with a five-link steel bracelet with clasp equipped with Tudor's 'T-fit' rapid adjustment system.
